Man charged following car thefts in west Kent |

|
An investigation into a series of car thefts in west Kent has led to a man being charged. Between 3 April and 13 May 2026, Kent Police received three separate reports that vehicles had been stolen in Leybourne, Otford and Sevenoaks. In two of the incidents, it was alleged that car keys had been stolen from inside victims' homes prior to the cars being taken. An investigation was commenced and a man was arrested on 28 May. He was then bailed while enquiries were completed. ChargedLiam Cook, of Shoreham Road in Orpington, London was charged on 8 July with 2 counts of burglary, 3 counts of theft of a vehicle and driving whilst disqualified. The 34 year old appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court where he was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is at Maidstone Crown Court on 6 August 2026. | ||
